FAQs
Yes. Elata offers dedicated solutions for homecare, aged care, rehabilitation, acute wards, and ICU environments. Each mattress is engineered to suit its intended care setting, from simple prevention to complex clinical treatment.
Home care - Mattresses E100 & E200
Entry level Clinical foam for pressure care - Mattress E300
Hybrid foam - Mattresses E400 & E500
Alternating air - Matresses E600 & E700
For Stage 3 and Stage 4 pressure injuries, Elata recommends advanced support surfaces that provide active pressure redistribution and clinical control.
- E400 (with pump) – Suitable for higher-risk patients who require dynamic support with the flexibility of hybrid technology. Ideal where clinical needs are increasing but full air replacement may not yet be required.
- E500 (Hybrid) – Designed for advanced pressure injury management. Combines foam stability with alternating air therapy, making it well suited to rehabilitation, palliative care, and complex aged care environments.
- E600 (Full Alternating Air) – Appropriate for high-risk patients in acute care. Delivers consistent alternating air therapy with greater immersion and envelopment.
- E700 (Advanced Alternating Air) – Recommended for very high-risk or clinically complex cases, including ICU, spinal and specialised care settings where maximum pressure redistribution and control are essential.
Selection should always be guided by clinical assessment, patient condition, mobility, tissue tolerance and care environment.
Yes. The Elata range is designed as one connected pressure care system that supports a step-up clinical pathway.
The E400 hybrid mattress can be upgraded from a static surface to dynamic alternating therapy by adding the compatible Elata EP10AU pump. This allows care teams to increase therapeutic support without replacing the entire mattress.
Beyond that, the broader Elata E100–E700 range is structured to move with the patient journey, from prevention and foam support through to hybrid systems and full alternating air therapy. As risk levels increase, clinicians can step up to higher-level surfaces within the same integrated platform.
One mattress range. Progressive levels of support.
Elata AdaptiveMode™ continuously analyses pressure data and senses meaningful patient movement. It automatically adjusts pressure levels and cycle timing in real time, transforming static intervals into responsive, personalised therapy without manual input.
The EP10AU operates within a 1-in-2 alternating air cycle, optimising pressure transitions between alternating cellgroup.
The EP20AU functions across both 1-in-2 and configurable 1-in-4 alternating cycles, delivering more precise pressure adjustments and enhanced immersion control.
Elata TiltSense™ is available with the EP20AU pump and detects changes in backrest elevation, automatically increasing pressure in key support zones to help prevent bottoming out. When the backrest lowers, therapy returns to its previous setting. It is ideal for patients who are frequently repositioned or seated upright.
Elata PowerGuard™ keeps the EP20AU pump delivering full alternating therapy for up to twelve hours during a power outage.
Once battery capacity is reduced, the system automatically transitions into Elata SafeHold™. In this protective low-power state, mattress pressures are stabilised and safely maintained without carer intervention, ensuring continued patient protection until power is restored.
Elata ID™ automatically recognises the connected mattress and selects the appropriate therapy mode. It removes guesswork, reduces setup time, and ensures the system runs at the correct configuration from the start.
Routine inspection and preventative servicing are recommended to maintain optimal performance. Elata pumps include built-in diagnostics to support early issue detection and reduce unexpected downtime.
