The sling supports the body between the waist and shoulders, leaving the arms free, so patients can naturally reach for and hold onto the support rails as they're lifted. As the hoist boom raises into the standing position, the sling moves smoothly with the patient, so even those with some ability to stand on their own are safely guided and supported throughout.
